I was born and raised in New Mexico. My father retired as an engineer with Los Alamos National Laboratory and my mother is an educator, a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), and a professional artist (www.mariaelenatheye.com). I have two brothers who are both combat veterans who served in the United States Army.
I studied Elementary Education for my undergraduate degree because I had a passion for helping others succeed and I initially thought that my calling was to do this through teaching school aged children. As much as I loved having a positive influence on the lives of children, I realized that my calling for serving others was in a different area and this is what inspired me to earn my masters, then my Doctorate, in Clinical Psychology. While pursuing these graduate degrees, I chose to enter the Air Force officer program as an opportunity to serve my Country while gaining valuable experience as a Clinical Psychologist, Behavioral Health expert, and as a leader/manager.
While, and between, earning my various degrees, I held a number of other professional roles that allowed me to build diverse experience which I believe has contributed to help make me a more successful professional and leader. I worked with the United States department of Energy in a number of security roles supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory. I worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory developing, managing, and delivering training. I worked at Target as a manager developing my leadership, customer service, and operations experience.
My goals moving forward are to continue living life to the fullest embracing family and adventure while continuing to grow as a professional and serve others through my knowledge, education, and experience in the fields of clinical psychology and behavioral health. I am open to roles globally but my preference is to be closer to family in the Southwest United States.
